We own the work. If a defect in Stellar’s covered workmanship causes a problem within one year of completion, we will arrange repair or re-performance of the affected work, subject to the terms below.
1. Coverage
Stellar Home Maintenance (“Stellar”) warrants that the maintenance, repair, installation, replacement, or improvement work identified in your Stellar-approved scope of work was performed in a professional manner and substantially in accordance with that scope.
For one (1) year from the work’s completion date, Stellar will arrange repair or re-performance of affected covered work when a failure or other condition is caused by defective workmanship in that work. Coverage is limited to the work Stellar performed under the approved scope; it is not a warranty of the entire property, system, or equipment.
2. Transfer at closing
This warranty transfers one time from the Original Customer/Seller to the New Property Owner/Buyer upon completion of the property sale. Transfer does not restart or extend the original one-year warranty term. Reasonable proof of ownership, closing, and the related Stellar work order may be required when service is requested.
3. Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Defects in materials, products, parts, or equipment that are subject to a separate manufacturer warranty.
- Damage or failures caused by hail, wind, lightning, fire, flood, falling objects, animals, vandalism, or other casualty events.
- Conditions caused by structural movement, settlement, framing defects, moisture, condensation, inadequate ventilation, or other underlying conditions outside the approved scope of work, rather than a defect in Stellar’s covered workmanship.
- Damage or failures caused by alterations, additions, modifications, or repairs performed by others. This exclusion applies to the condition caused by that work and does not automatically void coverage for unrelated Stellar workmanship.
- Normal wear, cosmetic variation that is not a workmanship defect, routine maintenance, or conditions outside the approved scope of work.
- Resident- or homeowner-caused callbacks: conditions caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, improper operation, failure to perform required routine maintenance, or actions by residents, homeowners, occupants, or their guests. These return visits do not qualify for covered warranty service.
Drain cleaning and new blockages
Drain cleaning addresses the blockage within the approved service scope at the time of the visit. It does not guarantee that a drain will remain free of future blockages. A new clog caused by grease, wipes, hair, foreign objects, or other resident or homeowner use is not covered. Recurring problems caused by damaged pipes, roots, or other underlying conditions outside the approved scope are also excluded. These exclusions do not remove coverage for a defect in Stellar’s covered workmanship.
Interior damage, personal property loss, loss of use, and indirect or consequential damages are excluded to the extent permitted by law.
4. Requesting warranty service
Notify Stellar promptly at (972) 982-7188 or partners@mystellar.com.
Provide the property address, work order number, a description of the condition, and photographs. The owner must provide reasonable access for inspection and take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage.
Unauthorized repairs are not reimbursable unless immediately necessary to mitigate further damage. Notify Stellar as soon as reasonably possible if emergency mitigation is needed, and retain photographs and receipts.
5. Limited remedy & manufacturer warranties
Stellar’s obligation under this limited workmanship warranty is limited to inspection and repair or re-performance of the affected covered work.
Materials, products, parts, and equipment may carry separate warranties issued by their manufacturers. Those warranties are not expanded, replaced, or guaranteed by Stellar.
This document is Stellar’s complete express workmanship warranty for the covered work. It does not limit statutory rights or other rights that cannot legally be waived. You may have additional rights that vary by state.
